Valentine's Torso

This was a Valentine's Day present. The material was a low-temp oven-bake clay.

Forest For The Trees

I made this in the Summer. But it never felt done. Then a few weeks ago Koishii brought the bone into the house and dropped it by my bed. And last week she did the same with the piece of wood. She's such an artsy dog. So I added those to it and call it "done".

Oracle - High Priestess

When I thought about an oracle card which to represent myself with the High Priestess was the first to come to mind. There are many words used in a reading containing the High Priestess: Intuition, Nonaction, Mystery, Calmness, Silence, Inner voice, Deep understanding, Discretion, Sensitivity, Distance, Stability, Wisdom, Unconscious knowledge, Patience, Looking inward, Contemplation, Subjective mindBut there is also an unspoke word. This is what I think of with the High Priestess: Duality.I hope this painting conveys that.

I used to make these a lot.

I just realized I've never posted my tarpan.  I made this back in the mid-90's.  Even though I really like it and haven't done a thing to it for probably 15 years every now and then I look at it and wonder if it's finished.

For starters, it doesn't have eyes.

But why is that an issue?

I did both of these during the summer and thought I had posted them.  Acrylics on canvas board.  The photo doesn't show how brilliant the colors are.  The one on the left is deep red with shades of merlot.  Hence the name Merlot Crow.  So I made the one on the right the color of Pouille Fusse and named it as such.
